Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using MintValt ("Service," "we," "us," "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. Continued use constitutes acceptance of these Terms.

2. Service Description

MintValt is a personal-finance management platform that lets you:

• Upload and organize bank statements and financial documents
• Track transactions, with categorization assisted by AI and correctable by you
• Set and monitor budgets, and receive alerts as you approach a limit
• Receive automated observations about your own spending, computed from your transactions
• Track savings goals and net worth over time
• Project future balances and test changes against them, on plans that include forecasting
• Download your transactions and your net worth history
• Manage accounts across 150+ currencies
• Create a household with the people you live with, and share individual accounts, categories and budgets into it (nothing is shared unless you choose it, and you can unshare at any time)

The Service is provided on an "as-is" basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time with reasonable notice.

3. Eligibility & Account

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By creating an account, you confirm you meet this requirement.

3.2 Account responsibility

• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential
• You are responsible for all activity under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• You are liable for losses resulting from unauthorized use of your account

3.3 Account information

You agree to provide accurate, truthful and complete information, and to keep it current.

4. Subscription & Billing

4.1 Free trial

• Your first 14 days after creating an account include every feature of the Service, whichever plan you later choose
• No payment information is required, and no charge is made when the trial ends
• Features metered by usage, such as receipt scanning, are allowed at the Professional rate during the trial
• We email you before the trial ends
• To keep paid features afterwards, you subscribe to a plan

4.2 Pricing & billing

• Pricing is displayed clearly before you complete a transaction
• Billing is handled by Creem, our Merchant of Record
• Monthly and annual billing cycles are available
• Annual subscriptions are billed at a reduced yearly rate, shown on the pricing page before you subscribe

4.3 Payment methods

• All major credit and debit cards plus common digital payment methods, via Creem
• Payments are processed securely by Creem (PCI-DSS compliant)
• MintValt never sees or stores your full card details
• Failed payments may result in service suspension

4.4 Renewal & cancellation

• Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date
• You can cancel anytime from your account settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
• You keep access to paid features until the end of the paid period

4.5 Refund policy

• We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of your first paid subscription
• To request a refund, email support@mintvalt.com within 14 days of purchase
• We approve refunds as soon as we see the request; your bank usually returns the money within 5-10 business days
• The guarantee is limited to one per customer

4.6 After your subscription ends

If your subscription expires, you lose access to paid features. Your data remains, you can download your transactions and your net worth history from your settings, and you can close your account at any time.

5. Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other accounts
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or try to discover the source code
• Scrape or automate data extraction from the Service
• Upload malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Harass, abuse, or threaten others
• Send spam, phishing, or fraudulent communications
• Share your account credentials with others
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
• Circumvent security or billing measures

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 MintValt's content

All content, features and functionality of the Service (text, graphics, logos, code, designs) are the property of MintValt or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute or modify them without written permission.

6.2 Your data

You retain all ownership of the financial data and documents you upload. You grant us a limited license to process and analyze that data solely to provide the Service. We do not claim ownership of your data.

6.3 Feedback

Any feedback or suggestions you share may be used to improve the Service without compensation or attribution.

7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

7.1 "As-is" service

The Service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis, without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy of content.

7.2 No financial advice

Important: MintValt is a financial tracking tool only. We do not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Everything the Service shows you, including categorizations, insights, projections and scores, is informational only. Consult qualified professionals before making financial decisions.

7.3 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MintValt is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

7.4 Availability

We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime, and are not liable for downtime or interruptions due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

8. Data Accuracy & Responsibility

• You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you upload
• We aim to categorize transactions accurately, but errors can occur
• Review categorizations and correct any inaccuracies
• We are not responsible for decisions made on inaccurate or unreviewed data
• Always verify financial information with your bank before making decisions

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MintValt and anyone involved in operating it from any claims, losses, damages or legal fees arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any laws or third-party rights, or content you upload.

10. Privacy & Data Protection

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices it describes.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers (for example, Creem for payments, Firebase for sign-in, and AI providers). We are not responsible for their availability, privacy practices, or security. Please review their terms before using them.

12. Termination

12.1 By you

You can close your account yourself, at any time, from your settings on the web or in either mobile app. Closure is scheduled with a seven-day delay so that it can be undone: sign in during that period and cancel, and nothing is lost. After it, your data is deleted permanently, other than the records described in section 5 of our Privacy Policy. You can download your transactions and your net worth history before you close it.

12.2 By us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms or our Privacy Policy
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
• Abuse the Service or other users
• Fail to pay for your subscription after a reasonable notice period

13. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

13.1 Informal resolution

If you have a dispute, please contact us at support@mintvalt.com with "Dispute" in the subject line, we will try in good faith to resolve it.

13.2 Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and any legal proceedings will be brought in the courts of Sri Lanka.

14. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll note material changes here and update the date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
